Painted Birdhouse Gourds

painted birdhouse gourds

I've been working on a few gifts for family.... painted birdhouse gourds!

I painted some with my family earlier this fall (check them out here), but this time I got my husband to drill holes in them so that they can be used for actual birdhouses.

With a little acrylic paint and a final coat of polyurethane, I think they turned out quite nicely :)

  3. These are so pretty! Did you grow the gourds yourself? How long do they have to sit to be dry enough to make into a birdhouse? You did a great job painting them!

  5. these are stunning. This is a really dumb question but are gourds the same as squash and if so how do you dry them and hollow them - I'm going to search your archive in the hope of an answer
