The Influence of Summer

My latest watercolor illustrations........
Bright watercolor ferns
multicolored chevron design

I started out with the Chevron design in mind, but by the time I finished that, I had several other ideas.   So I kept painting..... and painting :)  I think the fact that it's summer time had a huge influence on these.  I can't keep myself away from bright colors!

  13. Annalea,
I like to use Strathmore watercolor paper, the 300 or 400 series. It's good paper and pretty afforable. I've never actually used watercolor pencils, but they sound fun. Best of luck to you!

  18. I've never attempted watercolors but seeing yours makes me want to try it. The colors are heavenly and the designs look like something to try. Think I'll need to practice alot before mine will be even recognizable, lol. Will be fun to try tho. What kind of watercolors did you use?
Your simple designs are so pretty, would love to be able to paint something to hang up in our home. Have you been painting for long time? Looks like you might be quite an artist, ya think? While your chevrons are gorgeous, my favorite is the branches or feathers? so pretty. It's all gorgeous what the heck. Here goes nothin'.
